Welcome to my world! It is so nice to meet you! I am first year Teacher Candidate and can’t wait to show you, well, me!

Christmas Photos with my Nephew

For the past five years I have dedicated to teaching kids cheerleading. I took on the role of the a recreational director where I have been lesson planning, coaching the coaches, routine planning, and teaching and learning in a gymnastics facility. I also have extensive experience working with children who have diverse needs. I have participated in the Kamloops School District After School Program and provided movement and art programs for students of all needs including mental diagnoses of ADHD and ADD. Moreover, I have provided Respite and care for children of special needs. I have cared for children who need special medication, seizure reporting, GI tube feedings, and ventilators.

Through my work experience I have completed several courses which aid me in teaching and learning. Some examples of the courses consist of Preschool management, class management, first aid, planning a practice, making ethical decisions, and respect in sport. The experience of leading field trips, summer camps, and classes has gave me several techniques and created a management style that I have grown into.

When not coaching cheerleading, my other interests include outdoor activities and cleaning! My environment reflects my mental health and happiness. I love to vacuum, mop, organize and purge my space of living and work. Cleaning provides a space for me to start fresh and find peace. Another place I find peace is outside. I love to hike, fish, swim, and explore undeveloped lands. Every summer I drive out to the Thompson River between Ashcroft and Lytton to fish the Frog Rock canyon. The warm sun and the rush of the teal blue water allows me to suspend my stressors and be grateful for the moments I have to step away from the urgency of working and attending school. I am excited by the prospects of teaching through Place based Learning to provide students with a unique and meaningful experience but also to ensure that students are taking time to connect with the land and find moments of peace.

Education Program has pushed me to find my limits. Completing six classes while working three jobs has forced me to find the time and space to be grateful for the land, the weather, and the moments of breath. I want to use this learning experience of my own to model balance and priorities in life to my students. I want to be vulnerable and open with my students on how I work to find balance and provide overall well being for myself and others.
